Bubba Kush Autoflower Origin
Auto Bubba Kush cannabis seeds are a combination of the original Bubba Kush and an autoflowering indica such as White Widow or Critical. The original strain (Bubba Kush pre 98) developed in California, likely from OG Kush and Northern Lights. Some say its origins include a New Orleans-based indica. However, like many 90's strains, its true origins are mostly folklore. What's not debated is the clearly indica genetics complemented by noticeably sativa effects.
Small amounts of sativa genetics (In both Critical and White Widow genetics) add to this strain's pleasant experience, giving Bubba a happy outlook, even if glued to the couch. Our feminized autoflowering Bubba Kush seeds are an indica, however, some versions of this strain are indica dominant. Ruderalis genetics speed up this plant's lifecycle, making it easy to go from seed to harvest in just 70 days.
What is Bubba Kush Autoflower?
By combining with an autoflowering indica, Bubba Kush plants benefit from a faster grow and a reliable flowering time. Autoflowering marijuana plants are a hybrid type of marijuana that combines ruderalis cannabis with an indica or sativa. Ruderalis cannabis is a hearty cousin to marijuana that is often used as hemp. It grows naturally in the Siberian environment, where it is exposed to shorter summers and cooler temperatures.
Because of its growing environment, ruderalis cannabis evolved into something very different from marijuana. The plants are shorter with thick branches. The buds also have little to no THC. Despite these differences, ruderalis is highly desired due to its short flowering time, making many cannabis strains easy to grow. Unlike marijuana plants, ruderalis does not mature with the seasons. Its flowering cycle instead utilizes a set amount of time – shortening the time it takes to harvest.
Growing Bubba Kush Autoflower Seeds
Bubba Kush isn't the easiest marijuana strain to grow. It is susceptible to mold, and the thick, dense buds do not help. However, the Bubba Kush autoflowering version adds more resiliency, plus there's less time to make a mistake. In general, the autoflowering version is beginner-friendly. In fact, you'll have a hard time finding a Bubba Kush auto grow journal that doesn't describe this strain as a high quality, fast grow.
As an autoflowering strain, you shouldn't expect incredibly high yields from this plant. However, your Bubba Kush harvest will be a lot more impressive if you grow it indoors. You can grow Bubba outdoors, but you must ensure to plant and grow your cannabis seeds in a dry environment that isn't too hot. You should also consider supplementing Nitrogen, Calcium, and Magnesium and pruning your plants to encourage airflow. You'll have to work fast, though; Auto Bubba Kush veg time is short, leaving a tiny window of opportunity for training and nutrients.
For the best results, grow Bubba Kush auto indoors. Within a couple of weeks, you'll have a little flowering plant with dense, compact buds. Bubba Kush auto pics typically show dense buds covering a prominent main cola. If growing more than one plant, leave plenty of space between them, as Bubba grows in width more than it does height. Outdoor heights can reach nearly 5 feet; however, indoor plants can easily stay small if trained.
Preferred Climate
Autoflowering Bubba Kush prefers a cool and dry climate. Ideal temperatures are between 68 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Stay vigilant for frost during the harvest month if you have an outdoor plant. We also recommend reading our germination instructions for guaranteed results.
